After serving as welfare missionaries in Hong Kong, Nathan and Jan Meehan felt a need to pass on the value of charitable giving to their extended family. This desire led them to establish two donor advised funds (DAFs) with Deseret Trust Company.
Through these DAFs, the Meehans have been able to receive immediate charitable-giving tax deductions on money invested while meeting later as a family to decide which charities to support.
