BYU Employee Giving
Each year, in the month of March, BYU employees go “above and beyond” by supporting deserving students financially through scholarships, paid research opportunities, and other inspiring learning initiatives. This is typical of the sharing, lifting, and inspiring attitude that is the hallmark of BYU employees.

Why Give Back?
I contribute because BYU changed my life. Everything I have in my life that is precious—the gospel, my family, and my livelihood—I owe to Coach Tim Powers recruiting me to swim at BYU. Although my financial contribution is modest, it represents my deep appreciation.
—Dale Cressman
I donate because I see our students struggling financially to make enough money to pay tuition and rent, buy food, et cetera, which are all much more expensive now than they were when I was a student.
—— Denise Stephens
Scholarships were a huge blessing to me when I was a student, especially coming back to school later in life as a single mom with two teenagers to support. So, I give to give back.
—— Judy Stoudt
To be part of something that is great and lasting, inspiring and uplifting, is meaningful and worth pursuing.
—— Kelly Jensen
The main reason I donate is because the university president has encouraged employees to do so. However, another reason is that I love BYU. I’ve worked here since 1984 and want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to come here.
—— Lonette Stoddard
I like to give to a scholarship fund at BYU Broadcasting to help the students working in our broadcasting facility. As a BYU alum, I feel a responsibility to give back to a school that I know can be a great asset in the life of a student.
—— Shawn O’Neill
It’s important to me that tuition benefits for students continue in the Department of Design, even if my contribution only helps one student. Financing education is never a waste of money.
—— Suzy Gerhart
As a graduate student in the MPA program, I received scholarships from generous donors that helped me defray the cost of my education. I choose to give back to the program that changed the focus of my life.
—— Vicki Okerlund
I believe deeply in the mission of BYU to help students develop personally and grow closer to Christ. Donating helps me reflect that belief more completely. It’s a way for me to make what I do here even more sincere and sacred.
