45 million people are blind; millions more have severely limited eyesight. Local, qualified doctors are trained to diagnose and treat vision problems. Humanitarian Services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who operates LDS Charities, provides equipment and supplies essential for these procedures.
Last year, Humanitarian Services provided vision care to 129,819 people in 32 countries. More than 550,000 people in 74 countries and territories have been helped since 2003.
One hundred percent of every dollar donated is used to help those in need without regard to race, religion, or ethnic origin.
