Photo of Ensign College student, Taya Russell, smiling. Taya Russell has received several scholarships during her time at Ensign College. Every time she was notified that she had received a scholar¬ship, she felt a weight lifted off her shoulders. She explains, “The scholarships I’ve received have been amazing for me. It makes me feel like I am seen and heard.” As young adults with a limited budget, she and her husband have been helped tremendously by the scholarships.

To those who donated to the scholarships she has received, she says, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” She adds, “This means the world to me and students like me because we just want to pursue our passions. To have the opportunity of a scholarship is wonderful.”

Ensign College has prepared Russell for lifelong learning, which is a principle of the gospel. “The spirit of learning and wisdom is always at Ensign College,” she says. “Before every class we get to start with a devotional, and it really sets the tone for what we are learning. It inspires me to remember that Heavenly Father is there and that going to a Christ-centered Church institution is a privilege. I feel like Ensign College is teaching me about the impor-tance of lifelong learning.”

Russell, who is from Tennessee, is in her final semester at Ensign College and is excited to graduate soon with an associate’s of applied science degree in interior design. She is looking forward to working in the commercial interior design industry.
