Brookelyn Harvey is a 2023 Wheatley Scholar. As such she has been mentored while conducting and reporting on research on family life. She says, “Mentoring from my professors has been priceless. Every interaction, whether academic or personal, feels like a ministering visit.”
The senior from Colorado Springs will graduate in family studies from the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences this April and plans to pursue a master’s in social work at BYU this fall.
Wheatley provides its students with personal and professional development through research, conferences, mentoring, and opportunities to associate regularly with professors and peers.
“I've discovered areas of interest that otherwise I wouldn't have,” Harvey says. “Having been here I know that God has a special plan for me. He is teaching me to be a wife and a mother, an active citizen in my community, a critical thinker, and above all a disciple of Jesus Christ.”
