The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square

Donations to the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square Fund are making it possible not only to continue the choir's legacy of performing through television and radio broadcast, concerts, and tours but also to expand its outreach in step with the international growth of the Church.

Less than a month after the first pioneers arrived in Salt Lake Valley, under the direction of Brigham Young, a choir was formed to sing at a conference of the Church. From this small beginning, the Choir has become known worldwide. In 1929, the Choir began broadcasting Music & The Spoken Word on the radio, and this program is now the world’s longest continuing network broadcast. Its audience continues to grow as languages are added to its outreach.

All volunteers, choir members unitedly raise their voices to God, giving faith-promoting service to the world through fervent song. Through inspiring music, the Choir brings joy, peace, and healing to its listeners around the world.

“Unitedly members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir testify of the living Lord and of His Church restored in these latter days, as do I. May God bless us to lift our lives by their example.”

- Russell M. Nelson, “These … Were Our Examples” October 1991
