IWORK: Onward and Upward
BYU–Hawaii is making significant progress toward its goals of expanding IWORK and serving more students from Oceania and the Asian Rim.
January 2026
In 2025, 76 percent of the BYU–Hawaii student body came from Oceania and the Asian Rim. The university is also approaching its goal to have 2,000 IWORK students. Because of your support, IWORK has increased by more than 1,000 students over the past 10 years and will continue to grow in the years to come. With the continued increase in number of IWORK students, donations continue to be vitally important.

Over the past five years, BYU–Hawaii has set a bold course for growth and student success. For the 2025–26 academic year, the university’s strategic direction focuses on three priorities: modernizing campus facilities, expanding student access, and ensuring every student completes a transformative capstone experience.
Major construction projects are underway, and while these upgrades bring temporary challenges, they represent real progress for the campus community. In parallel, BYU–Hawaii is intensifying efforts to broaden access to education—streamlining degree requirements and course scheduling so that more students can graduate efficiently and return to live and lead in Oceania and the Asian Rim.
Central to these changes is a deepened commitment to provide every BYU–Hawaii student a comprehensive, culminating experience that synthesizes their learning and prepares them to serve. These capstone experiences are designed around five pillars: faith, intellect, purpose, resilience, and leadership. By focusing on these qualities, BYU–Hawaii aims to equip graduates to become true disciple-leaders who are ready to strengthen their families, nations, and the Church throughout the world.

BYU–Hawaii continues to progress toward its goals to have 2,000 students be a part of the IWORK program and 75 percent of students come from Oceania and the Asian Rim. With your support, the university is getting closer to reaching these goals and ensuring that more students from the target areas are able to get the help they need to attend college.
In order to bring more international students to campus, BYU–Hawaii has prioritized growing the IWORK program. Thanks to your donations, the university is closing in on its goals while also looking at where IWORK can go in the future.
